HOST COUNTRY FACULTY
ACCENT's US partner institutions have the opportunity to select from a large array of teaching options which utilize host country faculty, including instruction in semester-long courses, guest lectures and seminars. Host country faculty add academic and cultural enrichment to programs with their knowledge of the host country, their familiarity with cultural institutions and their unique local insight. All host country faculty who work with ACCENT are native speakers as well as fluent in English, giving US partner institutions the option of providing instruction to students in the host country language or in English. Also, every host country faculty member has experience teaching American students, is knowledgeable of the American higher education system and has the academic qualifications required by each US academic partner.
HOST COUNTRY ACADEMIC PARTNERS
In each city location, ACCENT has partnered with distinguished local institutions of higher learning in order to provide program participants with a choice of courses in a wide variety of academic disciplines. Through these carefully vetted partnerships, US study abroad students have academic access to some of Europe's most well-regarded centers of learning. Attendance at one of these local institutions will provide students with an invaluable cross-cultural and global experience.

ON-SITE PROGRAM ENRICHMENT
Adding value both inside and outside the classroom during the course of each program is another hallmark of the ACCENT experience. Program enrichment events range from site visits, academic workshops, case studies and guest lectures to organized leisure activities, including travel, cultural excursions and social events. ACCENT works with each US partner school to design program activities customized to the program topic or course emphasis. These learning experiences enhance more formal instruction, as well as foster personal growth and development.
1. Lectures and informal discussion sessions on a wide variety of topics with museum curators, renowned architects, fashion designers, award-winning film directors and authors, international business executives, foreign journalists, government representatives, politicians and Vatican officials.
2. Special invitations to lectures and other exciting cultural events at local academic institutions of higher learning, as well as opportunities to meet and interact with local students through ACCENT-organized intercultural social gatherings.
3. Private visits and access to sites not normally open to the public, including workshops, lectures and tours of historically significant homes and gardens, television programming facilities, art restoration studios, governmental entities such as parliament and embassies, leading multinational corporations, international non-profit agencies, and behind-the-scene events at museums and other cultural institutions.
SPECIALTY DISCIPLINES AND OFFERINGS
Whether through US faculty-led programs, programs using host country faculty or programs enrolling students in local partner institutions in each European Center, ACCENT provides US colleges and universities with the opportunity to develop study abroad programs that focus on a wide range of academic disciplines and even cross-disciplinary topics. ACCENT has the experience and a knowledgeable staff to create unique and academically challenging traditional and non-traditional programs that enhance student learning.
SERVICE LEARNING
ACCENT provides outstanding service learning opportunities that give students the opportunity to participate in an organized and meaningful service activity that meets established community needs. The major goal of ACCENT's service learning offerings is to promote student education through experiences associated with volunteerism and community service.
INTERNSHIPS
Depending upon the student's major, career interests and host country work regulations, ACCENT provides an array of internship placements in cooperation with experienced local providers. All internship placements are carefully vetted to ensure that students are placed in positions appropriate to their educational backgrounds and career aspirations.
