| Students on an ACCENT program in Paris may be placed in a student residence, apartments or in a Parisian home. Housing options vary by program. |
STUDENT RESIDENCES
Student residences are located throughout Paris, within a short walk or metro ride of the ACCENT Center. |
| The majority of ACCENT students in Paris stay in triple, double or single studios within student residences located in the 12th arrondissement. Students in double studios are housed with another ACCENT program participant. All studios are furnished with the necessities: bed(s), desk(s), a closet, a telephone, small kitchenette with microwaves, refrigerators and hot plates, as well as silverware and dishware. Sheets, pillows and blankets are also provided. Each studio has its own small bathroom and shower. |
| In summer months many ACCENT students live in residences at the Cité Universitaire. Located in the 14th arrondissement in the southern part of Paris, the Cité Universitaire is made up of many residences called maisons. Each maison represents a different country and its residents are, for the most part, students from that country. Both single and double rooms are available. All rooms have beds, closets, desks and telephones. Sheets, blankets and pillows are provided. Many of the rooms have their own sinks though bathrooms and shower facilities are shared by everyone on the floor. Student residences also include laundry facilities and either a cafeteria or shared kitchenettes. |
STUDENT APARTMENTS
Students may stay in double rooms in multiple-bedroom student apartments throughout Paris with other ACCENT program participants. Rooms in student apartments are furnished with a bed, a closet or armoire, an area for toiletries, sheets, pillows and blankets. Kitchen facilities include a small stove-top, refrigerator, dishes and basic cooking utensils. All of the student apartments are located in and around the center of Paris, within a 20 to 55 minute walk, bus or metro ride from the ACCENT Paris Center. |
HOMESTAYS
Homestay accommodations provide students with an opportunity to observe firsthand how the French live. Although living with a host family can be challenging, most homestay students say that the experience has greatly improved their linguistic abilities and increased their level of cultural understanding. Students considering homestays may find it helpful to have some knowledge of the French language. Students staying with families will have some meals provided and limited access to the kitchen and should keep this in mind when budgeting for food.
FIAP
The FIAP is a residence located in Paris’ 14th district between the Place Denfert Rochereau and the Place d’Italie. It has rooms for one and two people, each one has its own private bathroom. The FIAP features a 24 hour reception desk, wi-fi, several dining options - including a café, and conference/classroom spaces.
CITADINES
The Citadines apart’hotels are air-conditioned, three star accommodations. The apartments, for two to four people, have a bathroom and a fully-equipped kitchenette. Each apartment comes with linens, a TV, a telephone, and free internet.
HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS
Local hotels may be appropriate housing for short-term or non-traditional type programs. Hotels used by Paris ACCENT are centrally located, either in the Quartier Latin or near la Bastille and are 3 stars. For more information on the hotel(s) specific to your program, please contact ACCENT.
