Students: Welcome to ACCENT! |
 |
 |
| ACCENT is committed to offering high-quality study abroad programs accessible to both traditional and non-traditional students. We are also committed to creating programs of academic integrity and to developing each individual's cross-cultural awareness. |
| For some of you, a study abroad program may be your first time away from home or outside of the United States. No matter how much or how little you have traveled, the ACCENT Centers in San Francisco, Paris, Florence, London, Madrid and Rome offer guidance and assistance based on your needs. From enrollment to arrival, through orientation to the last day of the program, ACCENT will help you make the most of your international experience. |
| Programs in each of our overseas Centers begin with an orientation. This comprehensive orientation focuses on the culture of the country you will be studying in, the academic structure of your program and practical information about housing, transportation, shopping and communications. You will receive an orientation packet containing a class schedule, program calendar and information on optional cultural events, currency, banking, health and safety. We also provide a handbook created by ACCENT containing invaluable information on the city you will be living and studying in. |
| Throughout your study abroad experience ACCENT is there to help you become acclimated to your new home and offer a wealth of current information on what's happening, not only in Paris, Florence, London, Madrid and Rome but throughout the rest of Europe, too. From all the practical information you need - how to change money or use public transportation, to where you can get the city's best chocolate éclairs or gelato, to where to hear the hottest live music or get the best tapas - the staff at each ACCENT Center provide you with a wide range of useful information. The ACCENT Centers are open during the week for you to use the resources and lending library of travel guides, periodicals, fiction and non-fiction books, to ask questions about academics or cultural issues, to collect your mail, and to find out about upcoming cultural activities. |
